If you’re looking for a specialist dementia care home for you or a loved one, you’ll find reassuring expertise and understanding at Green Tree Court.
Setting the ‘Gold Standard’ in dementia care homes
From our earliest architectural blueprints for Green Tree Court, we worked in partnership with the renowned experts at the Dementia Services Development Centre (DSDC) at Stirling University.
Together, we have designed and refined every aspect of our home to create a safe, welcoming and stress-free environment for residents with dementia. Special features includes subtle details in the décor that can make all the difference to day-to-day life. For example, the colours we have used have been carefully thought through to reduce confusion or indicate clearly where there’s a door or toilet. There are innovative features too, such as memory boxes containing familiar personal effects to help our residents identify their private room.
It’s not just the building and furnishings that are dementia-friendly. Our best-practice approach to personalised care for people living with dementia includes organising one-to-one and group activities. This helps maintain social interaction and give a renewed sense of purpose to our residents – essential for emotional well-being. All our staff, whatever their role, also undertake Dementia Friends training, so they are informed, compassionate and understanding.
The DSDC has recently made an independent assessment of our dementia facilities. They awarded Green Tree Court’s ‘Willow’ ward a nearly perfect score of 94%, making us one of only a handful of homes in the world to be accredited with the Stirling Gold Standard.
