Last weekend our Grand Community Garden Party had place and it was a great success!

With the help of our residents, staff and the local families who assisted the event, we managed to raise £810 for Exeter Leukaemia Fund, ELF.

Green Tree Court organised this party with a lot of enthusiasm and the intention of getting the local community together to have a pleasurable, fun day and support this extraordinary charity.

Everyone had a superb time thanks to the many amenities we had: a BBQ, a Grand Raffle, cream teas, children’s activities, our fantastic jazz singer and, of course, the appearance of the legendary sports presenter, Steve Rider.

Steve Rider joined our garden party as our VIP guest and as representation of ELF. He was very proud of supporting the event and told us:

“It was great to come here once again on behalf of Elf to support the fantastic work and fund-raising effort of all at Green Tree Court.

From personal experience this is one of the finest residential nursing homes in the country.

Their work is appreciated by hundreds of individuals and their families, and their fundraising efforts are greatly appreciated by all The Exeter Leukaemia Fund.”

We are proud of how this event went and very pleased that we could put our bit to this cause. Green Tree Court works daily to provide life-enhancing care and support to our patients who include individuals affected by Leukaemia.

Helen Rushton, Care Home Director at Green Tree Court, said:

“We’d like to give a huge thanks to Steve Rider for his ongoing support of our work at Green Tree Court and to everyone in our local community who came out and supported our efforts on the day.

“ELF is a charity very dear to all of us and we are therefore delighted to make a contribution to such a vital charity who do so much for patients and their families affected by conditions such as leukaemia.”

Thank you and congratulations to everyone who took part!
